Brookfield Show 2026 Celebrated as Major Community Success

The 2026 Brookfield Show has wrapped up after three vibrant days celebrating country traditions, local talent and community connection in Brisbane’s west.

Held from 22–24 May at the historic Brookfield Showgrounds, this year’s Show attracted strong crowds across the weekend, with visitors enjoying a packed program of competitions, exhibitions, family activities and live entertainment.

A major highlight was the Cookery Competition, which received a record-breaking 700-plus entries, while Brookfield’s Got Talent reached new heights with more than 200 performers taking to the stage. The Show’s newest competition, Hobby Horses, also proved an instant success, delighting competitors and spectators alike.

Across the grounds, patrons enjoyed exceptional displays of local talent through competitions including Art, Horticulture, Needlework, Woodwork, LEGO, Dogs and the ever-popular Crazy Cavy guinea pig competitions. The Art Exhibition attracted significant interest, with strong sales reflecting the outstanding quality of work on display.

The return of Woodchop after a hiatus was warmly welcomed, while families flocked to favourites such as the Animal Nursery, Children’s Stage and sideshow alley. The Brookfield Museum provided a fascinating glimpse into local history, while community organisations including Bush Kids and Moggill Creek Catchment Group shared informative displays with visitors.

Night-time entertainment drew enthusiastic crowds, with spectacular fireworks, crowd-favourite fire shows, Equine Excellence performances and live music from local favourites Gold Creek Band and The Mighty Boscombes creating a memorable atmosphere.

Brookfield Show Society President Rowena McIntosh said the success of the Show reflected the commitment of volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors and the broader community.

“The Brookfield Show is all about bringing people together and creating lasting memories for families, friends and neighbours,” Ms McIntosh said.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this year’s Show such a success. From our chief stewards and volunteers to community members who helped at working bees, assisted at the gates, supported competitions and responded whenever help was needed, this event simply would not happen without them.”

Ms McIntosh also acknowledged the Brookfield Show Society Management Committee for its stewardship of the event and thanked the thousands of patrons who attended across the three days.

“While we can’t take credit for the wonderful weather, we are grateful so many people came out to enjoy everything the Show had to offer. The positive atmosphere across the grounds was a reflection of what makes our community so special.”

The Brookfield Show Society also acknowledged the valued support of its sponsors, particularly Platinum Sponsors Prowler Proof and Lexus of Indooroopilly, whose contributions help ensure the Show continues to thrive.

With another successful Show now complete, the Society encourages the community to stay connected with Showground activities throughout the year and looks forward to welcoming everyone back for Brookfield Show 2027.
