Conditions of Entry Art Brookfield Show 2025

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - ART SHOW
NOTE: Failure to comply with any of the conditions of entry may result in disqualification of that entry and the non-return of the entry fee (at the discretion of the Chief Steward).
THE ACCEPTANCE OF ANY ENTRY IS SUBJECT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE CHIEF STEWARD
1. Each artist may enter a maximum of two works. $25 per entry.
2. Entrants must be over 18 years of age by the closing date of entries.
3. Artist’s name, contact details, medium, and title must be written on or attached to the back of the artwork to ensure identification.
4. The artwork must meet a minimum standard (at the discretion of the Chief Steward).
5. Artworks must be the original unaided work of the artist, i.e. not done at a workshop or class, not copied from another artist’s work, not generated or digitally altered using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and must have been completed in the last 12 months.
6. Artwork must not infringe copyright at any stage of its creation.
7. The maximum size of any single painting should not exceed 11,025 square centimetres (1,708 square inches) *. The total combined size of the two paintings permitted per entry shall not exceed 16,537 square centimetres (2,563 square inches)**. All measurements are of the external frame and include diptych and triptych works.
8. Artworks must be completely dry on delivery.
9. All unframed canvases should be either reinforced with additional bracing or framed, to prevent warping.
10. Artworks must be ready for hanging (wire or hanging cord – no string) attached securely with D rings only. (See the Artwork Hanging Instruction on Page 5).
11. No changes (title, substitute artworks, etc) to entry forms are permitted AFTER Friday, 2 May 2025.
12. If an artist, after submitting an entry form, decides to not participate in the show, the entry fee is not refundable (at the discretion of the Chief Steward).
13. Every artwork submitted must be for sale and remain on display for the duration of the show, even if sold.
14. The Brookfield Art Show, the Show Society and its volunteers will act with reasonable care and responsibility whilst handling artworks and supervising the Art Show. However, they are not responsible for loss, damage or theft of any works at the Art Pavilion. Artists should take out their own insurance should they consider it necessary.
15. All decisions by the Judges will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
16. The Brookfield Show Society Inc. will retain a commission of 25% on all sales.
17. Respect all volunteers as they are just that and give their time freely for the success of the show.

*e.g. height in centimetres multiplied by the width in centimetres = square centimetres.

**only one artwork of a maximum size is permitted per entry; e.g. submitting two paintings: if one is of maximum size (11,025 square centimetres) the second painting may not exceed external framed size of 5,512 square centimetres.
