Official Announcement – Brookfield Show – Horses Competition Cancelled for 2025
The Brookfield Show Society Management Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the Horses Competition for the 2025 Show.
This decision follows an assessment of the Show Main Arena, the main grass area of the Brookfield Recreation Reserve, and surrounding grounds—all of which are currently sodden with water. It would require at least five consecutive hot and dry Brisbane summer days for the grounds to dry out sufficiently.
Given the current conditions, the risk to the health and safety of horses and riders, as well as the potential damage to the grounds, is simply too great.While this news is deeply disappointing, we believe it is the right decision for the wellbeing of our equestrian community.
